On offer today is a simply beautiful set of 6 dinner forks in QUEENS pattern double struck, this is a highly sought after pattern. They have an anthemion heel, Assayed in London by makers John James Whiting (3) and George W Adams (3). They are dated 1843-year letters G/H. Hallmarks are deep and clear. Their length is 8.125 inches. Collectively they weigh a staggering 613 grams (19.71 troy ounces) and each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. They have great tines with no wear at all. They are engraved to the front with a contemporary elephant crest but this has worn over time.
In great order and a really high quality set of flatware.
A functional early Victorian lot in this highly desirable (and traditional) pattern.
Terrific large forks for sure.
I have listed the matching dessert forks too.
Please excuse any reflection in the images, this sometimes happens when using a camera tent outside in daylight.
Would be ideal for the collectors to enhance their collection.
Also ideal as a very special present.
Would doubtless cost an awful lot of money in a good retail outlet today..
