This is just a general information and may be or may not be related to this item, but hope it will help…    My items are from the deep Chinese villages, so it makes more difficult to prove they age as to compare with Chinese Royal Porcelain, the one who was pictured and catalogued.    Old porcelain fired with firewood or with Coal. With magnifying glass you can see the surface have asymmetrical bubbles as it was burned with firewood and had not stable temperature as it would be now in the modern fire places by using gas or electrical burners.    To judge the item age need experience in every Chinese period as they made different porcelain in the different period.    Song dynasty usually made the Jun porcelain with many little cracks.    Ming dynasty made the Qinghua porcelain, the Qing Hua porcelain pattern is vague.    Qing dynasty made the gold plate item, the pattern is distinct.    The Republic of China made the colour Enamels porcelain, the pattern colour usually imported from Italy.    The Cultural Revolution made the land of idyllic beauty culture, because in this period Chinese peoples could not speak freely, so the artists wanted a land of idyllic beauty to get away from reality.    To see if the item hand painted also easy. Maximize the photo of the item and you will see the hand painted pattern, which is out of balance and with not straight machine made lines, some lines are thicker, some line are thinner. When made a copy, pattern is straighter because the copies usually made with print machine, so the pattern line is balanced.    Obviously you need many years of experience, computer, in Chinese speaking friends, see Thousands of different vases and to know almost all Chinese historical periods as it have many Emperors in China history and every Emperors Dynasty ruled the country in different way and in very different periods.    If ages where strict and dangerous, antique Chinese Masters usually hand painted free landscape to feel a bit of nostalgic freedom….    In good times they hand painted Dragons or created other fantasy related animals and other happy beauty and the most beautiful and non-imaginable different Porcelain things… Many of these ideas can be found in Chinese Hong Lou Meng’s novel as it reflects Chinese official and folklore culture.    Hope it helps? Obviously you may need and other opinion regarding my Chinese items as this does not mean the Porcelain is antique, because copies in China has been made for hundreds of years. Even some of the Auctioneers around London about my items think that they are copies (these are not listed yet) and some Auctioneers are sure that they are genuine Chinese Antiques and very much would like to sell them on the Auction houses.    The beauty of China not only in the items age! There is no price when it comes to Chinese Antique Porcelain. One day vase may sell for £100 but a month later for £10.000 or 100.000, so its virtually impossible to estimate an accurate price on the piece in a market so erratic! Recently I witnessed in the South England in the auction as Chinese plate estimated to fetch £600 vent under the hammer for £16.000..! Even the old professional auctioneers has been shocked by this different in price between they valuation referring to the previous month sale and by the market dictated jump in price!    In Republic of China items can be taken to Chinese Cultural Relic Authenticate Department to get a Certificate and item will be catalogued on they Site, but it’s expensive. Obviously without they professional approval not many dealers can tell for sure age of my item, but if you will go to China and get this confirmation, you are stuck – to take antiques out of the country by the current Chinese law is illegal. Same applies to the U.S.A. buyers as they are prohibited from buying Chinese Antiques from China, but American and Chinese Collectors can buy it from UK.

Item located in UK, will send worldwide.

Thank you,
