For sale we have a rare English delftware tile
Liverpool circa 1750
Unusual chinoiserie design with an oriental man sitting under a parasol with a young boy with a stick and basket over his shoulder unusual buttercup corners and wonderful naive composition
Condition is the best you will ever find this tile is in mint and unrestored condition with the usual rim fitting but with no cracks hairlines or restoration and is a wonderful original piece
Very similar tile can be seen in English delftware tiles by Anthony Ray page 228,229 this book lists about 20 designs in the style with buttercup corners although very similar ours appears to be a new addition to the series
