The woven placement pattern is of facing cranes, an auspicious emblem, in glamorous shimmering silver. There is also a silver tatewaku (vertical wave) pattern. As this obi is rokutsuu, the pattern runs approximately 60% of the front of the obi. The rest of the front and all of the back is plain smooth blue silk. This obi would be wonderful to wear with a formal kimono, or could be made into a glamorous table runner or wall hanging. There are some folds from storage and a slight chemical smell.
