A heavy, Queen Elizabeth II solid sterling silver commemorative plate. The plate depicts the College of Arms around a 24k gold covered central medallion depicting the Royal Arms. This lovely commemorative plate was issued for Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. The surrounding Arms are engraved and then filled with 24 carat gold.
My research indicates this plate was one of a limited edition of 2,500.
The College of Arms plate has a diameter of 10.5 inches (26.5cm) and has a substantial weight of 17.136 troy oz or 533 grams.
The base is engraved with the name of each of the Coats of Arms that appear on the front (see photo's).
The individual Coats of Arms surrounding the Royal Arms are the arms of the Earl Marshall, the College of Arms and the three Kings of Arms, plus the badges of the six Heralds of Arms and the four Pursuivants of Arms.
A fantastic solid silver commemorative plate for any collection!! It would be a lovely item to keep or to give as a gift.
Condition Good condition with light surface scratches. Crisp hallmarks. No box. Please see photographs.
