1813 indentured lease for meadowland in Eltham, Kent, between Plummer & Warner
A large, single paged indentured lease document made on 9 June 1813, during the reign of George the third. The agreement is between Thomas Plummer of Camberwell in the county of Surrey, Esquire (the surviving trustee named in the last will, and testament of Thomas Lucas Wheeler, late of new bond street, Esquire, and a captain in the hundredth regiment of foot, deceased), Frederick, Gibson of his majesties customs and money buildings, in the parish of Saint Mary Newington, in the county of Surrey, Esquire and James Gibson of great Saint Helens in the City of London, merchant of the one part and Joseph Warner of Eltham, in the county of Kent, Esquire of the other part. The agreement is in consideration of the sum of five shillings.
The property is described as two closed or pieces or parcels of Meadowland, situated lying and being in the parish of Eltham in the county of Kent, containing by estimation, 9 acres.
The document carries the signatures of the parties along with the seals in the bottom margin. The left margin carries a blue blind duty stamp for what appears to be £1.10 shillings.
Document measures approximately 26.5”x 21”
The document has obvious fold lines, and some general browning. No tears. Please see photos.
