  LACY VINTAGE FULL SLIP

34-ish bust - see notes below!

 

This gorgeous vintage full slip is by respected US makers, Van Raalte. It is a tailored style with glamourous, movie-star looks!

 

In ivory, this is one of their 'Satin Suavette' slips, so-called because the soft, silky nylon is ultra-smooth with an almost satiny feel. It's trimmed with the most beautiful Van Raalte lace.

 

The slip has gathered cups with a border of sheer lace at the eckline that runs down onto the nylon. This has exquisite shaped edges that follow the floral design - see photos. The same lace continues across the back and the satin shoulder straps are adjustable and are correctly anchored below the lace so as not to pull the delicate fabric.

 

Moving down, the slip is carefully tailored into the waist then flares gently down to the hem, which has a sheer lace border - nearly 6" deep! As well as the fabulous shaped edges and floral design, the lace features wine/cocktail glasses and champagne flutes together with slices of lemon - I've never seen anything quite like it!

 

Size notes: the slip is labelled 34" and fits that size bust or a little larger or smaller. The waist fits up to 30" and the hips are about 36". The slip is 43" long, shoulder to hem, (that's below the knee) with adjustable shoulder straps.

 

The slip is in excellent condition, with the original Van Raalte old 'cloth' label. It appears to have been shortened (with a tuck) previously and you can just about see where the stitching was. Otherwise it looks new! It has been laundered for freshness. Please see photos.

 

A really lovely old slip, deliciously smooth and silky with amazing lace - perfect with your very best vintage undies and sexy seamed nylons! Highly recommended.
