RARISSIMO ELMO AUSTRONGARICO M17 WW1 "WARCHALOWSKY EISSLER WIEN 66".

SEHR SELTENER AUSTRONGARISCHER HELM M17 WW1 "WARCHALOWSKY EISSLER WIEN 66".

VERY RARE AUSTRONGARIC HELMET M17 WW1 "WARCHALOWSKY EISSLER WIEN 66".

The Warchalowky Eissler Wien in the First World War I employed about 3,000 employees on an industrial complex on the outskirts of Vienna which mainly produced Aeronautical Engines, field kitchens, pots for rations, ammunition.

Pressed by orders from the Austro-Hungarian War Ministry, always looking for new supplies of combat helmets (Stahlhelme), Warchalowky produced a limited number of 20,821 size "68" helmets during the conflict, highly sought after by collectors.

Nothing compared to the 324,974 helmets produced by Brunn's Bruder, Gottlieb & Brauchbar d Brunn (BGB66), the 326,052 produced by Adolf Westen by Cilli (AW64), the 336,559 helmets produced by Krupp by Berndorfer, between the M17 ("Berny") and the M18 called improperly "Hungarian".

Warchalowsky Eissler Wien in size "68" is already known in national and international collecting circles, until recently it was considered second in rarity only to Manfred Weiss who produced only 12,500.

But for some years, thanks to recent findings, it has come to light that Warchalowky Eissler Wien also produced a very modest quantity in size "66" (it is estimated at most a thousand).

Attached is the review taken from the site "La Battaglia del Solstizio" of the discovery of Warchaloski Eissler "66" dated 4/2/2000.

The helmet shown here, shell, hoop and buckles untouched, of "feldbraun" coloring present largely on the helmet, is exactly the shell shown in the article and photographed in the detail of the hallmark "66", which characterizes this exceptional double find.

Helmet reviewed, together with the complete cufflink, on international sites and soon to be announced in the next edition of the main specialist work dedicated to Austro-Hungarian combat helmets.

Incredibly rare piece that speaks for itself.
